Hemp has many beneficial compounds, called phytocannabinoids, along with terpenes, and antioxidant flavonoids. Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most commonly sought phytocannabinoid of the hemp plant. Hemp only has a tiny amount of the naturally-occurring psychoactive compound (THC) found in high amounts in marijuana, and can be sold when the hemp oil has less than 0.3% THC. However, some products have zero THC due to advanced chromatography which can remove even a trace of that specific compound.
